As a photographer, every senior session feels like a celebration—not just of academic achievements but of the journey and the exciting road ahead. This recent senior session at High Point University was no exception, and it left me inspired and smiling long after the final click of my camera.
High Point University is a photographer’s dream. The meticulously maintained campus, vibrant greenery, and stunning architecture provided the perfect backdrop for capturing this special milestone. The senior I worked with brought their own energy and style to the session, and together, we made magic.
Meet Mahoney
Mahoney is a psychology major graduating with her bachelors of science degree and has big plans for the future. Whether it’s stepping into the professional world or continuing her education, her confidence and determination were evident during the session. She is moving back to Boston in a few weeks to receive her masters degree in psychology, she is wanting to be a marriage and family therapist and work with children in the foster system! She even brought along her cap and also her embroidered stoll from her sorority and she has been receiving various colored chords from participating in clubs, volunteering, and leadership positions, which added a personal and creative touch to their photos.
The Session Experience
We started the shoot at her tiny home that she has lived in since she started High Point University. She had all of her close friends there and she really wanted everyone personality captured and what they do on a typical night (when they are not all studying) I captured them chatting and playing games and just being them!
As we moved around the campus, Mahoney relaxed into the session, and their personality began to shine. One of my favorite shots was taken at the big building in front where the nutcrackers were placed and the Christmas tree! This building seemed to be her favorite building, It perfectly captured her joy and excitement for the future.
Why I Love Senior Sessions
Sessions like these remind me why I love being a photographer. There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping someone celebrate such a pivotal time in their life. It’s not just about the photos; it’s about preserving memories and creating images that they can look back on with pride for years to come.
Closing Thoughts
Congratulations to Mahoney on their upcoming graduation! Capturing their journey at High Point University was an honor, and I can’t wait to see where life takes them.
